You can join NCFR at a membership level that best suits your needs. All individual members at each level of membership receive the NCFR Report Newsletter, reduced fees at conferences and other NCFR discounts, as well as voting and office-holding rights in the organization. Each member also has the opportunity to join smaller special interest "sections" within NCFR (no additional cost), as well as regional and state affiliate groups near you.
There are additional benefits available, above and beyond all of these, at the various membership levels described below.
Please note that effective January 1, 2010, some membership levels are renamed: Professional-2 replaces Colleague (all journals); Professional-1 replaces Associate (one journal); Professional replaces Supporting (no journals).
*In 2009 only, all members will also receive the new journal Family Theory & Review (JFTR) regardless of membership type. Starting in 2010, members who receive either or both of the other journals will also receive JFTR.
Benefactor: NCFR benefactors choose this level of membership for the highest level of prestige and benefits. In addition to receiving subscriptions and on-line access to both of NCFR's scholarly journals, Benefactors contribute an additional tax-deductible donation of $50 that is specifically earmarked to subsidize student memberships, nurturing the next generation of family professionals.
Many of our Benefactors are long-time members who remember joining as a young professional or a student. They know personally how membership in NCFR nurtured their careers. Benefactors "pay it forward" by bringing new members into the organization. We announce Benefactors in the NCFR Report Newsletter and they are identified by a special ribbon on their Annual Conference badge so that new NCFR members can thank them personally. Cost: $200
