The Journal of Marriage and Family (JMF), published by the National Council on Family Relations, is the leading research journal in the family field and has been so for over 60 years. JMF features original research and theory, research interpretation and reviews, and critical discussion concerning all aspects of marriage, other forms of close relationships, and families. The Journal also publishes book reviews.
JMF is issued in February, May, August, November, and December of each year. Each issue averages 284 pages in length. World wide, its circulation is more than 6,200 copies.
Family Relations: Interdisciplinary Journal of Applied Family Studies
A publication of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). It is an applied scholarly journal that emphasizes relationships across the life cycle and research with implications for intervention, education, and public policy.
Family Relations publishes applied articles that are original, innovative and interdisciplinary and that focus on diverse families and family issues. Audiences include educators in academic and community settings, researchers with an applied or evaluation focus, family practitioners, and family policy specialists. Appropriate articles include empirically based applied research, critical syntheses of relevant substantive areas, program evaluations, and educational philosophy/practice.
Since 1951, Family Relations has covered areas of critical importance to family professionals. Its emphasis is family research with implications for intervention, education, and public policy.
Family Relations is published five times a year (January, April, July, October, and December) and averages 120 pages. Articles are peer-reviewed.
The Journal of Family Theory & Review is owned by the National Council on Family Relations. The Journal specializes in publishing original contributions in all areas of family theory, integrative and theory based reviews of content areas, book reviews and review essays. The Journal does not publish empirical reports with the exception of meta analyses of content areas. JFTR is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December.
