CFLE Certification > Maintaining your Certification > Recertification

Recertification

In order to maintain the CFLE designation you must submit evidence of 100 hours of continuing education activity every five years. Continuing education includes additional academic courses completed, attendance at conferences, seminars, workshops and trainings, and work experiences that are new or different from those included in your original CFLE application, i.e. development and/or teaching of a new course/program, etc.

All the directions and forms needed to apply for recertification including the CFLE Continuing Education form, CFLE Continuing Education Requirements, Guidelines and a sample format are available in Adobe® acrobat™ format below.

Recertification Form and Guidelines

You must have the Adobe® Reader® plug-in installed on your system in order to view these files. You can download a FREE pdf viewer by clicking on the button below.

Submission Deadline
Continuing education credits are due in the final month of the five year cycle. For example, if you are first approved as a CFLE in April of 2009, your five year cycle would be April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2014. Your continuing education credits would be due in March of 2014. NCFR will send a reminder notice approximately six months before the credits are due.

Fees
The recertification fee is $120 for NCFR members and $170 for non-members. The fee includes the CFLE Annual fee for the next year.
